PrintBullington was scheduled to take Meche's start today, but will pitch 3-4 innings later after Rupe starts so that Rupe gets to pitch against the main lineup (via Dutton's tweet).
Ankiel makes his return as DH today.
Pitchers for the Royals: Rupe, Bullington, Thompson, and possibly Tejeda
Justin Duchscherer starts for Oakland.

1. DDJ - RF
2. Pods - LF
3. Aviles - SS
4. Ankiel - DH edit: Ankiel scratched because of ankle. Thorman will DH.
5. Pena - C
6. Kila - 1B
7. Maier - CF
8. Fields - 3B
9. Blooms - 2B
P - Rupe

Anybody else think this would be a good lineup
If Billy were DH, Callaspo were at 3B, and Getz were at 2B? I think I’d take that over what will actually happen. Of course, the order will have to switch around a bit, but as far as positions go, I’d be fine with that.

Compared to a lot of the ST lineups
This is not bad. At this point, Bloomy has been playing better than Getz and is not a liability at the bottom of the order. Put Pods on the Bench, Ankiel in the OF (right with DDJ to left), Kila and Bulter at 1B/DH (interchangeable), and Callaspo at 3rd, and you have a decent hitting and fielding lineup. Not a lot of power, but mostly guys with reasonable averages and plate discipline.
Add Gordon at 3rd and move Callaspo to 2nd, and you got yourself a real MLB lineup all the way through.
Of course
You might have to shuffle around the order:
DDJ
Aviles
Callaspo
Butler
Kila
Ankiel
Pena
Maier
Bloomy
If Gordon were in, put him 6th/7th and slide down the rest.

Thorman takes over at DH. Apparently, Trey’s going to comment at some point regarding Callaspo and Ankiel.
When does Trey begin to play the regular season lineup?
Or is this it minus Butler at 1B? The injuries to Ankiel and Callaspo don’t help a team that will struggle to score runs.
