Lineup at Angels (3/29) - 3:05 CT
Bannister was going to start today, but Farnsworth took his place so that they can get another look at him against a tough lineup. Banny will be throwing a minor league game instead.
Mr. Ankiel has rejoined the lineup as the DH, so we'll see how that goes.
Not sure who else is pitching for KC, but Joel Pineiro will face the Royals for the second time this spring.
Gameday here.
Lineup at Angels:1. DDJ - LF
2. Pods - CF
3. Billy - 1B
4. Ankiel - DH
5. JoGui - RF
6. Thorman - 3B
7. Yuni - SS
8. Kendall - C
9. Getz - 2B Update: Getz scratched for illness; Irving Falu to start at 2B (via David Holtzman)
P - Farnsworth

I wonder if
they are looking to start Thorman at 3rd on the ML squad if Callaspo cannot go? With Fields hacking his way off the roster and two injuries, I would not be surprised to see him as the opening day 3B if Bert cannot go. This, of course, assumes he can hit real pitchers, as most of his decent numbers have been put up late in games. Does he have an option left?
I hope not
Surely Getz can play a passable 3B. Also, there’s Bloomquist to fill that gap. Thorman might steal a bench spot, but I can’t imagine that they actually start him.
Then again, I’ve thought wrong before. Especially about predicting what Trey and GMDM decide.

What is wrong with Callaspo?
I have a feeling the Royals trainers have him and are doing their best
Also Farnsy starting is so awesome. (should this be in sarc font? you decide)

Hoagy In RF
Makes absolutely no sense unless they’re trying to hasten the onset of the chronic leg injuries so he can’t complain about DH’ing. Hoagy DH’ing makes no sense, either, but that’s another matter. Hoagy as a fourth OF is ludicrous. Hoagy on this team makes no sense. There, fixed.

Dream sequence....
Farnsworth hits a batter. who then charges the mound tackles farnsworth and lands on his throwing arm knocking him out for the year. Kendall while trying to break it up gets knocked out and cold and is recommended (by royals physicians) to never play baseball again. Meanwhile….Jose Guillen, while trying to run in to join the fray….pulls a hamstring and must go to the DL.
by Clearly Ambiguous on Mar 29, 2010 4:24 PM EDT reply actions
and....Hillman is so dejected because of his love for Kendall, that he decides to quit as manager.
David Glass ties Hillman to Dayton Moore and decides that GMDM hired a bad manager and he is relieved of his duties as well.

Just sign Fat Elvis to bean someone in Detroit
Then Fransworth will naturally body slam someone and break his hand. Maybe he’ll slam Kendall because he’s confused.
Perfect. Start a fight. Hide Farnsworth's glasses and point him in the direction of Kendall.
btw….nice Fat Elvis reference. He was definitely not scared to do a little head hunting.

Will it be Cruz or Colon? I’m pulling for Blake Wood to make this team as well as a middle inning guy.

It just reminds me of that game against the Sox last year
When, in the process of going to Soria with the lead, Mr. Farnsworth took the ball, which was then quickly cranked into the stands by a large fellow named Jim Thome.
I would guess Colon just based on how much he’s pitched and how well it’s gone, but if Cruz looks good in the rest of ST he could be an option. I really think they might dis Blake Wood and stash him in Omaha, but they might surprise me.
