Sweet now I get Lough-Dyson-Parraz Fulltime
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
I hope they do this
This is much better than having him sitting in Omaha as an OFer, giving Moore the option of replacing Maier with him.

Weird though. Seems like he's just an injury away from the active roster.
Probably a lot further away than that at a pitcher.
This kinda sucks in that it'll will definitely keep Bloomquist from being traded.
Bloomy isn’t the worst 5th OF deep utility infielder in the world.
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.
Probably figures if he can't make the Royals, he's not a big leaguer
You can see how he came to that conclusion.

Didn't he get a guaranteed contract?
So we’d be paying 700K for him to TPJ it up in the minors?
Unless I'm wrong...

i sure hope
we are not paying a guy 700k guarateed to take up a new hobby in A ball….
yet it would be throwing money away to cut guillen loose??
~~~Damn, I wish i had a clever signature
Not sure if you guys are joking with your responses
But it wasn’t true. See Schaum:
“I was told that Brian Anderson wanting to pitch was not serious. #Royals fans I am sorry, but it sounds like I was wrong” in his tweet.
It's on the main site.
So either Dick Kaegel was in on it or was fooled as well.
I can't tell
I trust Schaum, but there are articles about it everywhere, which really doesn’t mean anything except that no one’s said anything to the contrary about it yet.
I don't understand why Anderson would want to do this
he’s way closer to being a everyday OF than TPJ was
he probably SHOULD be the Rs CF at this point… starting over as a pitcher just does not make sense
Over Maier?
So you’re saying the OF should be
LF – DDJ
CF – B Anderson
RF – Maier
Is that because Ankiel is hurt, or because he can’t get on base?
I'd rather just go all in with defense I guess
none of them are gonna hit, other than DDJ
The problem is Podz, who is just unnecesaary and rbings nothing to the table
Ankiel and DDJ in there, plus a mix of BA and Mitch wouldn’t be terrible
I've Been Pimping
That plan since we got Ankiel. Podzilla is a millstone.
Just think how the kid must feel
The majority of fans are down on BA. The media is not giving him any love. I haven’t seen anything suggesting Hillman has any confidence in BA. At this point, I can see the Royals playing Bloomy, in the OF, as opposed to call up BA when Ankiel does down with injury. BA must feel deflated. Yes, his bat may not produce the way we would like, but his defense is AWESOME!! If your offense isn’t going to score many runs, I would prefer putting your best defense out the field. Your best defense doesn’t include Pods. I wish BA all the best!!! I will continue to follow him where ever he goes. When he makes it to the Burlington Bees Roster, I’ll be tin the stands cheering him on.
Not sure why the media would give him any love.
Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.
People ask me what I do in winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.
Should someone suggest this route for
Batter Nine You Sucky?
Kendall?
JoGui?
I once had hope...now I have Moore.
I don't even want to imagine Kendall as a pitcher.
Seeing as he threw out all those steal attempts this spring…
Maybe all the HPB he gets would translate into batters he hits.
In other bizarre Royals news
Yuniesky Betancourt announced today that he wants to try to be a shortstop.
He'll have to work on that in Burlington
There is no retraction yet on the official site
but Anderson is still listed on what appears to be the final roster. Weird story.
By Kaegel on Royals.com............The moves will be made official on Friday and Sautrday
Few official moves were made by the Royals on Thursday, but manager Trey Hillman is moving closer to finalizing his 25-man roster.
Hillman said that players who have been informed they likely won’t be on the Opening Day roster include pitchers Brad Thompson and Matt Herges; outfielders Brian Anderson, Scott Thorman and Buck Coats; catchers Edwin Bellorin and Vance Wilson, and infielder Irving Falu.
Those players remained on the Spring Training roster, but after Thursday’s game, pitchers Josh Rupe and Jorge Campillo were reassigned to the Minor League camp. More moves will be announced during the Royals’ stop in Texas for two games against the Rangers on Friday and Saturday.
I guess it's true
Dutton, Holtzman, and Schaum are all reporting that Anderson will be with Idaho Falls for extended spring training to start relearning to pitch.
That just seems so weird
I assume his ultimate goal is playing as much and as long as he can in the majors. So you’d have to think that backup-CF-in-AAA/4th or 5th OF for a team as bad as the Royals (and as thin at the top of their system) would be a MUCH better option than starting over at the very beginning as a pitcher. Especially at age 28.
Oh well, good luck and godspeed. We can always use cheap bullpen arms.
Not sure if anyone will read this
But this Anderson thing is interesting. We (or some of us) were apologized to today for the info about Anderson. When he told the Tucson paper he was going to pitch that was news to the Royals and than he told them he was just joking. So, they squashed that rumor and now they are seeing he was serious. He was assigned to Idaho Falls this year but I really do not think he will have a long leash as a P with this organization. I think they are really disappointed.
