    "abortion"

as in “the Royals will abort their participation in the game” or as in “aborted human foetus”

Either way it doesn’t make much sense. Not faulting you because other people clearly use the term pejoratively, I just don’t get it.

Greg Shaum could re-read what he's written from time to time

That Moustakas piece is thrown together like he had a deadline in 3 minutes.

An american league scout did say Moose has improved at 3B

I wonder if its the same anonymous scout that predicted 15 wins for Tomko

    Wakeup call.

I know all of us are all angsty and distraught and…you know.

We just need to realize that this is damn-close to the upper end of what the Royals can do this year with this current roster. There’s nobody at the farm that’s going to come up and magically change this cow pattie into a super mushroom. It ain’t happenin, kids.

    This is it.

    i wish

i doubt he makes it to the majors in this organization

He hasn't pitched yet this year

Whats that about? And Omaha have already had one epic length game.

    well,

he didn’t quite have his Super Mario stuff when he got to AAA last year

    He's on the DL

I have no idea if the injury is real or imaginary. Get Dr. Nick on it!

    Did anyone particularly doubt this?

I’m not sure what the point is here.

    I have to disagree

There is help on the farm. Carlos Rosa? Disco Hayes? Hell, Bullington. Can they do that much worse?

Yes, I'm still alive. Sorry to disappoint you.

    Banny on 810 right now

Bemoaning that baseball teams will not bring in their best reliever in the highest leverage situations because closers are paid based only on saves. He cites Zack’s Cy Young without leading in wins as (small) mindset change and wishes there was a stat that could quantify what bringing in a relief pitcher in the higest pressure situation means so that there was a way to pay them based on that.

    Still lovin’ Banny.

It's all ball bearings these days!

    so

have him pitch the 7th or 8th and then have Cruz pitch in the 9th?

    I like that.

by Crooow on Apr 14, 2010 12:53 PM EDT up reply actions

Is it just me or is Banny being more openly critical of the Royals this year?

Of course being Banny he’s still wonderfully diplomatic about it and does it in the way least likely to get anyone mad, but still.

    Oh, and love him!

What was the rationale of having Moose over Heyward?

Not like the Royals were the only ones. How did Heyward fall so far?

    I read

He walked so goddamn often that Scouts would literally not see him hit on a trip down there.

The Braves, who could easily see him pretty much every day he played were much more confident in what he was really doing at the plate.

I've also read that there was some thought that he wouldnt sign anywhere but atlanta...

but that sounds like a crock of shit to me…nobody turns down $4 million

    It wasn't his main talent

Just what separated him from a lot of other guys. His main talent was immense power and great defense.

I think the problem is you don't get to evaluate his swing if

    teams constantly pitch around/IBB him

not @Retro, just at the thread in general (and a week late)
