A Yahoo! report on the DFA of Mike Jacobs is here.  focs put this out in a FanShot as it happened.

It appears the Mets prefer to platoon Fernando Tatis and Frank Catalanotto, at least until Daniel Murphy returns from the DL.

Jacobs final 2010 Mets line:

.208/.296/.375, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 3 BB, 7 K

Mike's outlook is grim, as he would rather "go home" than accept a minor league assignment:

"I don’t see how I’m going to have playing time down there," Jacobs said. "I’m not going to go down there and sit on the bench, I’ll tell you that, that’s for sure. … I’m definitely not going to waste my time doing that. So, I don’t know. Maybe I’ll be going home."
