Game 18 Open Thread - Twins at Royals
Minnesota Twins at Kansas City Royals, Apr 25, 2010 2:10 PM EDT
When eating chicken dishes at a Chinese place, try to take down each piece in one bite. You don't want to see the inside.
Un-relatedly, here's the last play of the game last night.
The Twins just play the game the right way.

Interesting stats
See these links, we are somehow way first in hitting and of course last in pitching. That is pretty much a reversal of the last couple of years. It’s amazing how, irrespective of any sort of statistical performance, somehow this team finds ways to suck so completely.

Well, I definitely out of my depth
But I felt like the inability of Pena to catch third strikes and block the ball with men on base last week really contributed to Banny’s unravelling

No...
I talked to my former advisor who is now the Department Chair, he said that they hire on based on 3 qualifiations. Academics, Teaching Experience, and Industry Experience with Industry Experience being the priority of the three, combine that with grades that aren’t exactly stellar with basically no teaching experience, it just seemed like to big of a long shot.
He didn’t discourage it, but basically put my odds at very slim.

I made myself as a starting pitcher in Road to the Show
I threw a complete game with 8 strikeouts and 1 ER, then got the message that I was going to be bumped from the rotation to the bullpen for Brian Bullington coming back from the DL. I went to the manager and said I thought I should be starting, and he agreed to give me a trial start… the next day. Two days after throwing 108 pitches, I went out and gutted out 7 innings, giving up two ER with 4 strikeouts. My reward? I got traded to the Brewers for Doug Davis.
It’s eerie how accurately this video game represents the Royals front office.
