Mitch overtakes Aviles
Mitch now the batting avg. leader in the MLB for spring training, bumping Aviles to #2. Also, they are top 2 in OBP, and Mitch is #4 in SLG.
And neither is likely to play opening day...

Obv
Can’t have them succumb to the emotionally intense pressures of opening day. We might lose them forever.
- W. Bloomquist homered to deep center
- P. Earth explodes
Disagree sort of.
Hillman said they’d only keep Aviles if he was healthy and able to play a bunch. I think he’s playing, and if he’s at 3rd, that’s cool. It might bump Callaspo to DH and Guillen to bench. Mitch could start over Pods though. Maybe Getz won’t start, haven’t heard much about him. Opening Day dream lineup does not include Pods, Guillen, Yuni, or Kendall. We have a shot at 2 of those 4 being benched, possibly 3 of 4. I won’t be disappointed if they all start, but if only Kendall starts, it’s a good sign that Trey gets it.
Prepare To Be
Disappointed. Aviles and Callaspo will not play. Book it. 5-9 will be ridiculous.
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

the Gordo injury created an opening
I think one will get some starts. The problem is too many of our better players were already second or third on the depth chart.
I actually thought Ankiel was one of the better free agent pick ups this year, but I’d be glad if he got benched behind Maier.
batter nine you sucky
I should have been more like you.
None of them will play. Wow… Just wow.
I could not be less excited for this Opening Day. At least Greinke’s pitching.
He has to....
Or bear the wrath of GMDM, that was his golden terd signing of the year, and the only multi-year deal anyone got.
next year is the future
Kendall is signed for next year, thus….
Jason Kendall is our catcher for the future
