How about trading Soria to the Twins for a couple of thier top prospects? Angel Morales and Wilson Ramos would be 2 of the prospects I'd take for Soria. We aren't close to being a winning team, why not stock up on talent now?

because unless we can trade GMDM to them first, this trade will never happen.

If we can figure out a way to get GMDM in the Twins Front office, it’s a done deal…he’d probably throw in Mauer too

BOOM! ROASTED!

just not realistic

they would never trade soria in the division, and the odds aren’t great they’d trade him at all

We aren't even close to contending, even in the AL Central.

Why isn’t it realistic? We don’t have a need for an All Star closer when we are going to be 20 games out of first in arguably the worst division in baseball. The Twins have a need and we have a luxury. We traded Teahen in the division, not the same caliber, but Dayton has shown that division trades don’t scare him. Just throwing it out there for discussion, I don’t really think this would happen, but if I were in charge I would probably do it.

well should the trade happen

and will it happen are two different things

I think Soria should be traded, but the Royals, we have every reason to believe, think he’s a key piece, and he’s under contract for a number of years. Moreover, Soria is basically dayton’s greatest success, and I doubt he’d want to trade Soria to the Twins, so he can beat us until 2014.

It's not realistic

because it won’t happen. The front office is too stupid to comprehend that they have zero need for a lights-out closer at this stage in the organization’s development; as a result, they actually believe that they need Soria… NOW.

I am now channeling Will McDonald's optimism.

I think you're underestimating the psychological boost

the team will get if it manages to win 75 this season

I demand Nick Punto

The idea of him and Bloomquist in the same team amuses me.

Punto is actually useful, thought

great fielder… I t hink Willie’s feelings would be hurt

It certainly does look like ESPN

is copying SB Nation’s formula.

It's pronounced Poo-ZHOLS in Catalan.

Make some sense

But won’t happen. Soria is Dayton’s crown jewel. Its the smartest move he’s ever made and he is going to cling onto him as long as he can. DM really believes we are not far from contending and as soon as some of our pitching prospects get here, we will be awesome, so we need Soria in the pen.
