The scrap heap was equally steep.
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

This reminds me
I am reading “The Bullpen Chronicles” by Dirk Hayhurst. Good read on life in the minors. Turns out it isn’t all fame and fortune. Poor Rupe is about to rediscover the magic.
Blake Wood instantly becomes the 2nd best pitcher in the bullpen
ick, I like Wood but that’s alot to ask of a rookie.

Rec'd because it is such great news
not a commentary on how well Wood will do, but the simple fact that it is rearranging the chairs on the Titanic….you know eventually if you arrange them right it will unlock a worm hole to another dimension and you can get off the boat!

RUPE! (THERE IT WENT)
- W. Bloomquist homered to deep center
- P. Earth explodes
I actually feel sorry for Rupe
Not sure why. Maybe because it must be such a bummer to get dumped when Bruce Chen is still out there in the pen.

Interesting point from Schaum that I hadn't realized
I thought Wood was the first of Dayton’s draftees to make the majors, but he was a part of the 2006 draft class*
* The one that Dayton only takes credit for Hochevar depending on current performance
Unless I'm wrong...
