One realistic move you would make

To help the Royals get more competitive this year.

I didn't want to write anything preachy or silly. I want to know from you, the RR, what is the one move you would make to help the Royals take another positive step this season.

It can't be an organizational move, like calling up Kila or Gordon, it has to be an actual trade.

I would love to see what everyone here can come up with. Please post your reasons and let's let the banter flow.

I would also like to see "possible scenarios", not Betancourt for Crawford or something haha.

Here's my one move.

Kansas City trades David DeJesus to the San Francisco Giants for Thomas Neal OF

WHY: Kansas City has one organizational hole and that is talented young outfielders. Neal, 22 (23 in August) has a very good upside as an above average contact hitter. He also has some power.

The Royals would also save some money by not renewing DJJ, and with Guillen falling off the books at season's end, the Royals would be saving at minimum 13 million for Guillen and 500k for DJJ, if they buyout his option.

The Royals would then be able to play Maier in CF and move Ankiel to RF, or vice versa. The Royals should be looking to add a player like this, considering the real lack of young OFers in the system.
