I like how the Diana Bellissimo pic says
minor airbrushing may have occured here.
Also I miss the (somewhat) obscure 80’s pop youtube vids that used to be in these.
With crappy overpaid vets of course!

I figured this
Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.
People ask me what I do in winter when there’s no baseball...Rock Chalk Talk
MLEs vs their competition
Gordon vs Podsednik
.294/.405/.510 vs .295/.352/.368
Kila vs JoGui
.266/.401/.484 vs .250/.323/.474
Falu vs The Spork
.261/.296/.305 vs ,180/.250/.320
Checkout Royals minor league notes at www.14for77.blogspot.com
GMDM's thoughts
the minor league equivalent will fall below their competition once called up and facing tougher pitching, so he’s sticking with the competition for now.
If Gordon and Kila were .100 points higher in each category, then they might have a better chance of being called up.
I also like Falu, and thought he should have been called up over Betemit, but Betemit has slightly more pop than Falu, and major league experience. I would think Falu would be a September call up.
K-State fan huh?

Jesus, I can't believe that someone would be so harsh
about a guy “selling out” when he says that GMDM isn’t the worst manager in baseball, but the 25th worst.

It starts out innocent like that
But soon you’re shoving him up the ladder…maybe he’s #21…19….15….can’t stop! Top 10! Top 3! No, help me, I’m outta control….DAYTON MOORE IS THE NEST GM IN BASEBALL! YES! (cue foaming at mouth)
Best to nip this sort of thing in the bud.

Strasburg will debut on June 8th
If the Nats do not skip anyone with the offday, he will miss KC. If he pitches on 4 days rest, he will pitch the 3rd game of the KC series.
They've probably planned it out to maximize home revenue from the "Strasburg bump"
I know I wouldn’t waste his ass on a start in KC. Though he may just throw a perfect game, cementing his legend. I know I’d go if they threw him against KC.
I need to stop reading comments after articles on other sites
KCStar, ESPN, Rany’s blog, etc.
I just read a defense of the Betancourt trade and how Kendall is just the greatest.
Unless I'm wrong...
My Twitter feed
Rany either reads this site
or we’re on the same page.
In light of my own reflections (here and here) on Moore’s place in infamy, I do have to say that it’s funny that Rany, like many Royals and Mets fans in light of the contest, says “okay, I know Moore/Minaya [whichever GMs the fan’s team] is bad, but c’mon, he’s not as bad as Moore/Minaya!”
I'm not a sabermetrician, but I do play one at FanGraphs and Beyond the Box Score.

Rany just didn't take his comments far enough
Or he purposely left out the last bit for us to fill in. Comparing him to Chuck Lamar means he has to go before the Royals start winning. So thanks for stocking the system DM, now we need someone competent at the MLB level.
I'm sure he cameup with it himself
I must say that I’ve been making the Moore:LaMar comparison for a while

Maybe I'll pose as you and go throw plagiarism charges around Rany's post
like the Rany impostor did to Joe Posnanski. :)
I agree strongly with Rany on one point
I find it maddening that we don’t have rookies playing in the field for us. Other teams seem to get their youngsters up to the majors more quickly than the Royals. Aviles is the last to get major playing time and that was necessitated by the brilliant play of TPJ. It is time to prove that we have a great farm system.

Rany's piece is pathetic
Just a joke. AFter all he’s been through now he’s giving Moore a chance? There is only one thing positive about his regime – he tricked Greinke into accepting a 2 year extension. THATS IT
It was a Baird Scout that found Soria..not his
BTW, Duffy retired! Way to go the HS route again Moore. Backfire!
well,
We all over-reacted to the farm’s poor finish to last season by questioning if Moore could even build the minors up.
Now, Rany is over-reacting to the farm’s hot start this season by thinking that Moore is maybe not a terrible GM.
And you are over-reacting to Rany over-reacting about the temporary surge in the farm system’s “value”.
And the cycle begins anew…
