Trade Idea: David DeJesus for Zambrano
Let's get Z while his price is low and DeJesus is high. Z can recover his career away from the bright lights of Chicago, and DeJesus can go on to be the star we know he is (and can handle). Am I crazy? - TL

seconded
i want valuable prospects for Davey, not that washed up overpaid bullpen arm
Agreed
If we’re gonna sell DDJ, we need to get a lot back for him. I wouldn’t pull the trigger on a DDJ trade until they make us an offer we can’t refuse.

No way man...
That contract is worse than JoGui + Kendall…
Coffee. The NEW Performance Enhancing drug for Sport's Writers. Just ask Ken Rosenthal.
Sort of, but...
…I do think Zambrano will recover his career. He’s more likely to do it out of the bright lights than in NYC, Chicago, or LA. …But seriously, DDJ is worth more right now so we’d be screwed—-which probably means this will happen.

it's very possible he turns his career back around
but it’s not worth taking on his contract to see if that happens. he just makes way too much.
baseball rules.
This strikes me as lighting a powder keg in the locker room.
Zambrano would be bound to suffer the (more than) occasional defensive letdown by the fielders. With the team trying to fundamentally change its culture for the better, such a trade would be a setback in that direction.
Guillen has been a baseball magnet lady.

you think having Zambrano, Guillen, and Kendall in the same locker room
would be a bad idea? shocking

If Zambrano was placed on waivers
no team would claim him with that contract.

Zambrano needs to go to an excellent defensive team and a contender
He has high expectations for his defense.
Oh man
Can you imagine combining Zambrano and Guillen in the clubhouse? Get Milton Bradley here and the stadium might sink into a wormhole.

Add Pierzynski
and then with Kendall we’d have the proverbial Royal Flush…
I am now channeling Will McDonald's optimism.

hrmmm, infielder charging the mound, one sided bench clearing brawl..
that might be a good chance to see Farnsworth do bodyslam

No...but for a different reason.
Marte already has the #47 fat guy jersey. We’d have to duct tape Blooms and Getz’s jerseys together for Zambrano.
