Keith Law's Top 25 MLB Prospects Update
Insider article; I'll only excerpt Royals-related info:
17. Eric Hosmer, 1B, Kansas City. Continues to rake in High-A despite being young for the level, and he's hitting the ball with more authority of late while hitting left-handers very well. The power (just 4 HR so far) will come eventually. Previous ranking: No. 23
21. Mike Moustakas, 3B, Kansas City. Still mashing in Double-A, but his home/road split is becoming more pronounced, and he does play his home games in a hitter's park. I'm not arguing that the breakout isn't real, but when you're hitting about 80 percent of your home runs at home and just .230/.319/.420 on the road, expectations may be running a little too high. Previous ranking: No. 25
Why Not?
Mike Montgomery? Because he's hit the DL twice with elbow soreness.

those rankings seem about right to me
although i thought even with minor injury issues, Montgomery is deserving in a top 25 spot given his ceiling.
Very promising
We could have four Top 30 prospects next year – Hos, Moose, Monty, Colon, and one more guy in the Top 100 in Myers, as well as guys with enough upside that they could be on the list with a good year next year in Crow, Arguelles and Melville.

although Duffy certainly has a lot to prove
to say he wasn’t that highly thought of is dubious.
Just doing a quick Google search (spent only 5 minutes) and every list i found had him above Myers and Melville, and even some had him above Montgomery, Moose and/or Hosmer.
I’m not saying things haven’t changed or that any of those facts are still the case, but I think you are really short-changing Duffy’s upside or at least prospect “experts” opinion of it.
THAT highly thought of...
meaning top 50 caliber. And yes, while he was ahead of Myers in most eyes before this year….Myers has raked as a 19 year old in a tough league for hitters while Duffy has pitched to 4 batters in Rookie ball.
