Also, I realize the June numbers may be a bit "distorted" by interleague
I'm not a sabermetrician, but I do play one at FanGraphs and Beyond the Box Score.
Can't get enough of me? Check out my Twitter feed.
Maybe I will give him a few more starts and see if there is any extra movement causing the high ground ball rate.

zack is probably mad about all the home runs allowed
and trying banny’s approach of going for the ground ball. I know pitch f/x classification has its issues, but it’s claiming that he’s throwing more than 50% 2 seam fastballs lately.
or maybe he decided to do his best hochevar impression (now including random sudden implosions!) while hoch was on the dl. Lots of groundballs and pitch count/inning is way down from earlier in the year.

Zack is our third best starter now behind Chen and LeRew.
ERA is all you need.
Go Royals!
i have noticed the sharp increase in ground balls lately
Zack may have gotten tired of all the HR’s against and maybe throwing more 2 seamers? i dunno.

The ZG's Are
Definitely keeping the ball down lately. I think it’s a good strategy that he needs to implement all the time, not just early in the game. He still comes up and in more effectively than any other starter we have, and I like that.
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.
