A lot of comments this year about Soria not being as crisp as we're used to. He is throwing more pitches per inning than he has in the past.

Title should be PITCHES* per Inning, not Pitchers. But I'm too lazy to change it.
Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.

Interesting
while Soria is getting hitters to swing at more pitches outside of the zone (the whole league is swinging at more pitches outside the zone), he’s also allowing more contact on pitches outside the zone — up from 60% last season to 75% this season. His Swinging Strike rate is also down. Perhaps this is why he’s having trouble finishing guys off.

Maybe the book on him is getting thicker and helping hitters more

His curve has been awful this year, guessing that's really not helping.

I think that's the main thing.
When his curve is off, he’s more erratic than anybody except Bad Robbie.

Maybe he knows he is being underused
so he wants to stay out there as long as possible.

Hah!
He’s going for All-star exposure and dramatics. – TL

I was thinking the same thing.
He knows he could sit for a week between appearances, so he’s purposely extending each as much as possible.

If that's truly the case
then I’d like to see him shave his beard into pointy sideburns and switch jerseys with Lerew before his next start.

maybe he
doesn’t like these low leverage situations and is trying to increase the pressure!
He must have heard FanGraphs switched from inLI to gmLI!
