This massive pile of shit called a baseball team is driving me to drink. Should I care so much that a simple sacrifice fly by Mauer makes me want to punch somebody?

Wow, they even messed up the Royals Trivia question

While Phillips may be the last, he is not the only one. Abraham Nunez did it in 2004

Just read that Jose Guillen is receiving serious interest by the Giants

and they’ve been “heavily scouting” him.

The idea of ravaging Sabean and getting rid of Guillen in the same transaction is a nice light at the end of the tunnel.

Going back to the pre-game question

Living far away, it doesn’t come up for me; but I wonder how anyone who cares about the team at all can justify paying $20 or more to go see one of these Chen vs. Real Pitcher games where we literally have no chance; to watch Guillen hobble to first base; etc. Why is it a pleasurable experience?

by Gus Zernial on Jul 27, 2010 10:23 PM EDT reply actions

Every year I'm more amazed

that the Royals draw more than 5,000 or so a game. I know everyone in KC thinks The K is OMG THE GREATEST STADIUM EVER11111111111!!!!!!! but it’s not a cheap night.

The fan support is incredible.

20 of it was on concessions. So if you eat before the game you can go pretty cheaply

$65 bucks for three decent-ish tix, but by the time you add in food, the OF experience for my knipper, and various other items, easily a + $100 dollar nite.

they also have a 4 pack deal for $60 bucks that comes with some concessions money….but it seats way upstairs, and I wanted to be a little closer to the field. Are you in Arkansas? It would be sweet to have the AA affiliate in your hometown.

They are much more fun. I enjoy the Royals as well, when the game is free. Let me know when you want to come watch a game and I will TRY to get you some free seats down low somewhere… just gotta give me at least two weeks notice.

I go to 3 or 4 games a year....almost always in the first couple of months of the season

before all hope is ineveitably dashed around June 1 or so. I am actually going this Saturday since my brother is in town and absolutely loves going to baseball games, regardless of the teams playing. I am curious to see how many lost souls show up for a Royals-O’s matchup in this heat. This will be my first post-All Star break game in at least five years.
