Around SBN: Hugh Douglas Admits To Stealing From Jaguars

Royals get pounded by the Yanks while celebrating 1980? That's the final straw for me.

The Royals just rolled over tonight to the Yankees while the team celebrated the 1980 A.L. Champions tonight, and I just can't take it any longer. What kind of organization wants to keep on losing by dealing players on playoff contenders (Kyle Farnsworth to the Braves and Jose Guillen to the Giants are examples) and there are rumors that Zack Greinke and Joakim Soria might leave K.C. during the 2010 offseason, and David Glass is thinking about selling the team. It was embarrassing for the 1980 Royals players to see their 2010 counterparts look bad against the team that the Royals dominated in the A.L.C.S. 20 years ago. Kind of reminds me of the 2007 Notre Dame football team honoring their 1977 National Champs squad in their 10/20/07 game against USC...and got trounced 38-0. (Head coach of the Fighting Irish? Charlie Weis, now Chiefs offensive coordinator. By the way, KC lost at Atlanta.) Looks like another losing year for us Royals fans and another losing year of Chiefs football as well. The Royals should have never lost to the Yanks on a night where they honored the '80 team, a team that would've even challenged the '10 Yankees in the A.L.C.S.! I'm not happy, and I want David Glass and Dayton Moore to stop acting like they're working at Walmart peddling goods and start being like the 1980 club when Ewing Kauffman and Joe Burke led the team that was still on top of the baseball world! If we continue to see the Royals fail (only 13 more losses to another losing season) and Charlie Weis is the 2007 Charlie Weis in KC, my response is after the jump...

Star-divide

When does Missouri football start? When does Kansas basketball start? When will GMDM be fired?

Have a nice day.

Well, okay

Padres guy. I guess you’ll be missed.

But I’m curious as to why a Notre Dame guy cares about Missouri or Kansas.

I am now channeling Will McDonald's optimism.

Quite an eclectic collection

San Diego baseball, Milwaukee basketball, Detroit football, Toronto hockey and Notre Dame college

Idiot

You’ve got nothing better to do than this. Move out of your mother’s basement and try to get yourself off the heroin and Wild Turkey and you can live a productive life again.

He does make one good point...

1) What other team commemorates an ALCS/NLCS victory after 20 years?

2) What other team commemorates their 1st of only 2 ACLS victories when the Yanks are in town?
      a) What are all the Yankees fans in attendance going to do with the promotional item?
      b) When will the Yankees have a chance to stop laughing at us to throw their 27 World Series rings at us?

I realize that it’s the 20 anniversary and that we beat the Yanks in 1980 but still, it strikes me a tad pathetic.

There is no red like Chiefs red.

Welcome from Facebook!

In bigger news…. tonight is Dora the Explorers birthday
I can’t bother with this today.

Everyone who bashes Kendall..... he is a damn good catcher. Very smart behind the plate. He has great BAT CONTROL, which makes him a good top of the order hitter.

I'm a proud "studs fag" since 6/20/2010... are you?

“The Royals should have never lost to the Yanks on a night where they honored the ’80 team”

Yes, because such things are controllable.

also

“What kind of organization wants to keep on losing by dealing players on playoff contenders (Kyle Farnsworth to the Braves and Jose Guillen to the Giants are examples) "

what.

I Really Hope

You typed “fapsnost” on purpose; great neologism. At least he spelled “Philip” correctly.

Phil De La Norte and Stonewall may not agree, but I'm a fan of your comment, Nighthhawk

if nothing else, the Pitch reference.

I Think You

Misunderstood my comment. Fapsnost, typo or not, is fantastic. And That’s Felipe De La Norte, thank you.

As I was typing my comment, I re-read yours and thought maybe I wasn't

reading the tone correctly. I should have known better ;)

This is my new favorite post

Oh wait…no, that was something else.

Isn’t this the guy who used to give us updates from his personal Strat-o-Matic recreations of years old Royals’ seaons? That would make this just about right.

It's all ball bearings these days!

by CentralChamps20?? on Aug 16, 2010 3:48 PM EDT reply actions

I don't know about that

but his recent FanPosts have all come in response to Royals-Yankees matchups. Maybe if you pay attention to only 2 or 3 series a year it’s possible to reach the end of your tether at this particular moment. Next year with a fresh set of Yankees games we may be granted a sequel. Watch for it!

Damn straight!

We also need to take away Greinke’s CY award. He STILL hasn’t pitched against the Yankees!
