Royals HRs vs LH pitchers

Let's get this out of the way first:

I'm not sure what this means, and I do realize most opposing pitchers are right handed. Still, these are very bizzare results for 2010

Star-divide

Can you guess which Royals have hit the most HRs vs LH pitchers this season?

1) Betemit 4

2) Maier 3

T 3) DeJesus, Betancourt, Bloomquist 2 each

T6) Guillen, Butler, Callaspo, Gordon 1 each

Again, no idea what this means, other than our main RH power bats (Butler and Guillen) for some reason or another did not provide much power vs lefties.

It means we hit singles. :)

Seriously though, shouldn’t this be of concern?

I'm trying a blog. It's about the Royals of course but more of a mechanical analysis type thing about players I see. Try it and let me know what you think! Scouting the Royals

I think it should be of some concern

when you couple it with the fact that our top 2 offensive minor leaguers are also lefties (in terms of proximity to the majors). I had been thinking that trading Butler if you could get some decent pitching for him might be a good idea, but the Rs are seriously short on decent RH bats. Myers can’t do it alone.

I would not worry about Butler

He does not even have 100 AB against lefties this year, and his career line against LHP is a robust 323/396/531.

This.

Butler really hasn’t had a lot of HR power at all this season. That’s more of a concern, I think.

Gordon hasn’t really played a lot to hit many HRs anyway.

This Is One

Reason I want to give Lucas every opportunity to crack the 25-man next year. He kills LHP.

Billy has always crushed Lefties and he's having a down year versus them

a bounceback next season combined with the same hitting versus righties would lead to a very nice season.
