Royals Beat 10-3, Bannister and Hochevar Both Lit Up Like X-mas Trees
I didn't get to watch much of the game (just the last inning and a half) so here are the highlights from the comments and box score
Notes:
- Bannister (2.2 IP, 7 Runs, 0 K, 2 BB) and Hochevar (3.0 IP, 3 runs, 3 Ks and 1 BB) had horrible nights in their returns.
- I not sure of the status or degree, but Butler left the game with a hand injury.
- Fields with a bomb.
- Dyson gets in the game and scores in the ninth.

how about the Greatest Royals #873 post?
I'm trying a blog. It's about the Royals of course but more of a mechanical analysis type thing about players I see. Try it and let me know what you think! Scouting the Royals
Can I say that Jai Miller sucks?
Play Dyson everyday for all I care.
what!
People have been waiting for Jai’s chance ALL YEAR and you’re ready to give up on him already?

...and after his first
career 2 hit game. C’mon Jai Miller is the future. You’re going to be telling your grandchildren’s grandchildren about watching the great Jai.
well banny says he can't throw his cutter
he is still hurt, so why the heck is he pitching?

Because we are the worst run organization
in professional sports. If I was the GM of any team with a worse record than the Royals right now, I would hang myself. Do you know how bad you have to be to be worse than this shitheap? Sorry. I’ll stop ranting before it gets out of hand.

Given that we'll be seeing him for awhile, like it or not
It was nice to see Chavez bounce back with a strong outing.

And thus we were officially eliminated from postseason qualification.
I had such hopes.
Kansas City Royals: your 2006 and 2007 NL Central champions!
hope springs eternal during the spring.

Unfortunately
I was at the game. A few thoughts for those who thankfully skipped watching it.
I left in the 7th inning when it was 10-2.
1st thing to happen in the game was Billy Butler gettin ate up by a ground ball from Span. It did not look that bad when it hit him, but for some reason it felt like one of those nights he was just gonna say “screw it, I am going to go sit on the bench”. Maybe I am wrong, maybe it really hurt…
Jim Thome almost hit one onto Hennepin Avenue, but it was not nearly as far as the one off Sullivan 2 nights ago. Either way, there was no doubt it was gone. Josh Fields HR on the other hand was a curious one we might see some issues with in the playoffs. Some dumb designer/owner thought it would be cute to put a flower bed above the wall and before the seats start in the OF. If the ball goes up over the wall and into the flower bed but hits the short fence above it…its a home run. Fields did exactly that and it was really confusing what happened.
In the 6 run 3rd inning, with 2 outs, Jai Miller had a shot to end the inning earlier on a line drive shot to right near the wall. It was very catchable. I am not sure if he was just afraid of the wall or messed up his timing on his leap, but that was some really bad looking defense. He ended the inning by catching a liner but on the replay you could see it hit the bottom of the glove and he almost missed it too. Not too sure about that guy…at least he hit well.
On the bright side, the Twins brought in a guy for his MLB Debut, which is probably why Chavez got a K, but he looked pretty excited to make it out onto the field. Always fun to see that.
according to the Royals broadcast
Ben Revere is the twins best prospect and has been their minor league hitter of the year for two years in a row. He’s a fast/high OBP guy. Nice to compare that with our top prospects.
Hmm...
I would think Aaron Hicks would be the Twins top hitting prospect, but he’s a ways away yet.
Revere is a 22 year-old who currently has a .716 OPS at AA. Callis recently compared him to Juan Pierre, who did have a few good years, I guess. But, yeah, if he’s the Twins top prospect, then the Royals should feel pretty good about their future offense relative to the Twins’.
I'm not a sabermetrician, but I do play one at FanGraphs and Beyond the Box Score.

I figured Kyle Gibson would be their top prospect....

Yeah, but that doesn't take into account DM unloading half our farm system for Marlon Byrd and Orlando Cabrera in two years.
Killing time until time kills me
only half our farm system?
hell, somehow I feel like we’d lose Zack and Jack too
