David Glass and 12.4 Mil
Sorry if this is old news. As a 16 year old I have never watched a good Royals baseball team and the person I blame is David Glass. So What scares me the most about Gil Meche retiring and giving David Glass 12.4 Million is that we as fans will never see the benefits of it. Gil Meche as we all know has done something that most modern athletes would call a waste. Gil has noticed that the Royals run a tight budget and he didn't want to waste their money. I absolutely love this move by him and he should always be welcome to the K with a loud ovation. Only there is one problem, David Glass not the Royals as a team will get the money. The money as I understand goes right to David Glass and that most likely won't leave his bank account. The worst part the fans will be upset and I doubt David Glass will bat an eye. Which brings me to my point. I feel bad for Gil, and my anger towards David Glass grows. Gil is trying to do something selfless and make the Royals better. Gil wants this to be used on players that will make this team better and 12.4 million can really help this team become better. Not ticket prices or charity I'm sure Gil gives enough to those. He wants to talent on this team to be there. I really wonder sometimes if Mr. Glass does too. So heres my poll. Does Gil's gift get used on players, charity, tickets, or does Glass pocket it.

I voted Players...
But it won’t be guys on the Free Agent market (as it shouldn’t). Hopefully it gets invested in the draft and we can get another Myers type who slips because of contract demands.

You should read the main post about Meche retiring for comments about David Glass. NYRoyal has pointed out that the Glass family has not been making a bunch of money off the Royals. I know you’re 16, so I don’t expect you to go research stuff or anything, but I think most people on RR would think this money will be used this year in the draft and international signings. However, if money is still left over, I have no problem with Glass taking it. (That part is just my opinion).
Some of it will be spend on the draft and LA
But most of it will be pocketed.

We were just told in "The Cell or The Jake" thread that parking in Chicago is $23.
That’s Chiefs money for a damn baseball game.
Yeah but that's Chicago.
Judging by KC standards, $10 is a lot.
Also, at The Cell, there is the option of public transportation. At the K, there is not.
are you going by yourself?
if so, then i can see it being a little much…we always go out with 4-5 people in a car and get our $10 worth of use out of the parking lot by going in early. An added benefit to tailgating is that we only pay parking about half the time.

there's always the option of grabbing some food at subway and taking the 10 minute walk
if its nice out…i’ve done that before as well…that way that $10 feeds you instead of going into glass’ pocket

That's actually a pretty good suggestion.
Although, honestly, I got laid off last week so until I get a new job, we probably won’t be going to many games this year anyway.
Doesn't that church also charge some $10 for parking?
At least God is getting your money, and not Satan.

At least the money won't be going to...

I hear she's upset about the Greinke trade
But they’re working on it.

Is Glass married?
I wonder what she’s like? …Well, not really.

can't agree more....
Never liked Glass whatsoever. He grew up a Cardinals Fan which is sacrilegious. He is cheap cause he thinks the Royals are walmart…..just plan ole cheap. I really hope the Hunt family invest in the royals. But the Glass family won’t sell. I feel your pain
Plenty of money to go around
Latin American FA and the Draft. Go deep or go home in the draft, I always say. If w can land a Myers in the 3rd and a Lamb in the 5th I will be very happy. Add those to the stud we get with the #5 pick, and I’d say that’s a win in the draft. If they can find another Cheslor Cuthbert, Robinson Yambati, and Orlando Calixte internationally, I would be okay with that too.
