This won't be official until after the world series... but... might as well talk about it.

Where is the story on MLBTR?
The link is just to MLBTR’s front page and I can’t find anything there about the Royals targeting Duncan.
Also, is there any reason why Duncan would go from being a pitching coach on a WS team to a pitching coach on a hopefully up and coming team that hasn’t even been close to contention in years? That’s not even a lateral move.

Royals offer more money
Would be my best and only guess

Timlacy asked why we haven’t started a Dave Duncan rumor at least so I told him I’d start one.

I expect to be banned for a full week
for this. But I got Scott to bite so it’s worth it. :)

Well played sir.
Scott just changed into frown boxers from the smiley face ones.
I'm waiting for my wave of talent to arrive.

If LaRussa retires, this makes some sense.
If he doesn’t, there is no way.

I knew this was a joke
because there wasn’t a “—38” at the end of the post.

Wow, that was fun
There are enough bullshit rumors out there without us creating false fanposts. Can we delete it or edit the title now? And can we keep the jokes to the comments?

A friend of mine who may or may not be in the Royals front office
And probably isn’t, but may be, although you didn’t hear that from me, thinks that the Royals may or may not be pursuing Dave Duncan, and if they were to, it would be a SUBSTANTIAL offer, although he was rather vague on how much that would be, but if Duncan came, he may or may not also bring along some Cardinals pitchers among who MIGHT include, but probably would not include – Chris Carpenter, Adam Wainwright, Albert Pujols, Matt Holliday, and Nick Punto, although this all might not happen if the Cards decide to pony up, so forget I even said it.

Without Jaime Garcia, I'm not interested.

it seems like it should be

I'm thinking the Mike Maddox of the Rangers
could be the next pitching coach of the Royals. Didn’t he and Yost work together for the Brewers?
I'm sure this means that we're going to sign Chris Duncan
and promise him the everyday second base job.
could he be any worse?

True...Sandy Duncan has never raped an Ox
Sadly, Sandy Duncan can make no such claim (actually, it was a “team of oxen” according to documents at The Smoking Gun). However, they both look good with the pixie haircut.
