Royals End Of Season Awards Part 3: Pitcher of The Year
After getting a couple of the obvious ones out of the way, we move into more uncertain territory; Pitcher of the Year. I have gone back and forth on this, whether to make it exclusive for starters, or to include relievers. I decided that since there is a separate award for relievers, I might as well make this one exclusive for the starters, which I think makes things nice and muddied.
Personally, I am little torn on it. Without considering facts, going based on a gut reaction, I'd probably say Bruce Chen, but I may be crediting him for both this season and last year.
The advanced metrics will tell you to vote Felipe; he tied Jeff Francis in fWAR in about two-thirds of the innings.
How much credit do you give for Luke Oplakia's second half of the year?
Tough call for me, so I leave it to the community.

If you're going to exclude relievers, it should be called Starter of the Year.
In my mind, at least, Holland was pretty clearly the best pitcher of the year.

Think of what this poll will look like next year.
1. Duffy
2. Paulino
3. Hochaver
4. Jurrjens
5. Lowe
Trust the process
I'm waiting for my wave of talent to arrive.

The voting option for Chen needs to be split into two
__ Chen (ironically)
__ Chen (non-ironically)

I went for Chen non-ironically
He can at least throw the ball over the plate.

I Voted Full
Season performance. Hochevar is easily the pitcher who looked best by the end of the season.
