Mission 2012 now
I was born into the Purdue and Miami family, became a Jaguars fan after moving to Jacksonville and adopted the Royals as my baseball team.....All of my teams are kinda bad....

I'm glad he did so well in the AFL
It might not mean much for his actual value, but it seems to have restored his standing (or prevented a drop in his standing) with the big prospect guys. And that’ll make prospect ranking season a little more fun.
I find it rather reassuring
I’m usually skeptical when people say “yeah, he played badly, but he was hurt,” since if a guy plays a lot, well, how much of it was really the injury? But it seemed kinda legit in Myers case, and him playing well in AZ sort of confirmed that he’s still awesome.
Hosmer went from 0 to 120 so fast during 2010 that the hype just happened. I’ve been pumped about Myers since he first raked in rookie ball. Not saying I’m alone in that, as everyone has thought he’s a stud. Just saying I’m pretty invested (proportional to being a sports fan — I’m not a weirdo. Well, I am, but anyway…) in Myers, so I was kinda worried this year. I thin he’s going to be awesome.

Gotta factor in age differential
Plus AA is where a lot of teams green light their guys to throw sliders. It’s a big step for a twenty year old.

I'm too lazy to look this up
what position(s) did he play mostly during the AFL?

every time I looked. He looked decent out there too. Seemed really confident and smooth. Has a good arm.
What's your opinion of 1) his speed, and 2) his range?

I've never watched him play OF in person
I went to 5-6 Naturals games last year and he didn’t play in a single one. But he seems like he’s grown since we’ve drafted him and has a lot of space to go with his frame.
It’s hard to say range and speed because TV doesn’t show movement to the ball and everything. His speed is just fine. People have been knocking him on it but I don’t see it. Of course it’s hard to tell when you never get to see him play. I thought his speed 2 years ago when I saw him in A+ was average.
So for now we just have to rely on the reports.
He will never overtake Frenchy

Time to come up with a funny nickname for him
Wil Myers is so boring. Suggestions?

The Thril.
Someone here (306?) called him The Unnatural and Schaum called Captain America. Those are pretty good, I think.
