Scouts noticed a tendency for Myers to turn it up a notch in clutch situations, and he has fast hands that help him generate above-average power.

so basically he is more aggressive with runners on in scoring position?
weren’t they saying that he is too selective and lets many hittable balls go by. makes sense i suppose
Do these effectively hide my thunder?
Just once...
I just want to see an old school coach use the word “grit” to describe a player that the saber crowd looks highly on. I swear the world would explode.
MAJOR LEAGUE (The Royals)
Rachel Phelps (Royals Management): I think he'll fit right in with our team concept.
Charlie Donovan (Royals Fans): That reminds me, I was going to ask you. What exactly *is* our team concept?
Can't be gritty unless you have bad stats.
Go Royals!
This.
Grit (and to a lesser extent clutch) is only used when a coach has to try to justify playing a player who has no reason to be playing ie: Bloomquist, Willie
It’s like saying the “special” kid’s art project has “potential”. Its a nice way of saying, wow this is crap, but we’re stuck with him so lets not be mean.
"We don’t have guys with a long history of being effective in the seventh and eighth innings."
~Trey Hillman, master of understatements.
So, NWA To
Start, Omaha in July and KC in 2013?
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.
i'd bet on him starting on omaha

i bet he'd start in omaha, but it's something like a 60/40 vs. NWA
it’ll depend on how he looks in spring training. there’s really no need to rush him because he’s blocked and francouer seems awfully close to immovable.
Unless Frenchy, Gordon or Cain leaves
I doubt we’ll see him til 2014. I’m not all that opposed to that either – give him time, keep him locked up, and let him lead the next wave of prospects.
So he coasts and takes it easy the rest of the time?
Slacker. Time to be concerned about his attitude.

No, he's just super-clutch...like Frenchy
Can you imagine a Royals OF with both of them in it? I bet Dayton Moore can. Who do you think the odd man out would be? It probably rhymes with Malecks Mordon.
