2012 World Series Odds

I was on my site today looking at CFB lines and came across the 2012 World Series odds. Most interesting to me is TEX at 13-1 and TB at 20-1. Can't say I'm putting anything on any of them, but I can imagine a situation where TEX signs Prince Fielder and that line drops immediately to +600 or so. These odds also have the AL central going in this order:

DET 16-1

CHI 28-1

MIN 60-1

CLE 66-1

KC 90-1

Might be some value later in taking KC's over on the total W's bet.

Star-divide

Philadelphia Phillies   +400
New York Yankees   +500
Boston Red Sox   +650
St. Louis Cardinals   +1100

Thank you for the post...

one of the most interesting sides of sports to me is the gambling side…if I was a sharp, I think I would put money on, yes, the Royals…and Texas and TB are probably good values as you pointed out…I like the Phillies, because it is almost guaranteed they make the playoffs, but that is why you don’t take them because they are only +400…

Other teams with good odds: Nationals? Angels? Mariners have great odds…with Felix and Pineda and young bats those are fantastic odds…

my thought is you grab value…I think that the Angels have good shot at Pujols, so there could be some huge value there…plus Trout will be a beast…I think that is the team I would put money on to do something keeping Pujols in mind

teams I wouldn’t dare touch with those odds: A’s, Mets, Astros, Twins, Braves, Tigers

I am the one who knocks.

At those odds, I wouldn't mind hedging somewhat and putting a dollar on every AL Central team

because the playoffs end up being such a crapshoot anyway to an extent. Anyone who makes it could make a run.

Gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the war room!

Yes, I know, nobody actually bets a dollar seriously..

but I’m poor and like to speak in those hypotheticals.

My college roommate bet me 1000-1 once on $1 that the Royals would go 0-162. I don’t know why he even bothered throwing that dollar away.

just to update...

The Royals are now 80-1 to win the WS.

The big mover is the Miami Marlins who are down to 23-1.
