Ned Yost Uses The Annoying "Some Kind" Expression, Beloved by Baseball Men
"This kid can some kind of bring it," Yost said.
As I've written about before, True Baseball Men love this expression. It's archaic, it's really awkward, it's vaguely southern.

Thanks Ned!

To think I was mocked for comparing the relative merits of Joe Maddon
to our beloved Nedlinger. For what its worth, Maddon’s cool specs, his penchant for fine wine, his ability to speak like a rational human instead of a character in a lame Jeff Foxworthy punchline, and the vision to bat John Jaso lead off makes me think he can some kind of manage it.

John Maddon can
some kind of reject you for some kind of mentioning his some kind of name in the same some kind of sentence as “some kind of”.

And the addition of two ungrammatical pieces of slang really takes it to another level
“some kind of” + “bring it” = genius
But how is it that he managed to avoid using the word “plus”? How hard would it have been for him to say, “This kid can some kind of bring it with plus stuff”? If you count “stuff” as slang as well, that’s four in one sentence!

Wow. This brings the term..."being under a microscope" to a whole new level.
Be careful what you say Ned.
And whatever they’re paying you, it’s not enough.

Right, because the Royals blogosphere is so tough for Yost to deal with on a daily basis. It really distracts him from filling out his lineup cards.
Every night he goes to sleep crying and every morning he wakes up screaming because of the intense scrutiny and non-stop criticism he gets from the Royals blogosphere.
I'm sure he reads Royals Review everyday.
