Maloof attorney files trademark for 'Anaheim Royals' name

It's not much of a secret that the NBA's Sacramento Kings have been eyeing a move to Anaheim, perhaps as soon as next season. Apparently their attorney has filed for trademark rights to the name "Anaheim Royals" (and the domain anaheimroyals.com has also been reserved). The franchise had been known as the "Cincinnati Royals" before moving to Kansas City and Omaha (where they split home games for awhile before dropping the Omaha part of it). For obvious reasons, the team changed its name from Royals to Kings then.
