Have a Question for Rob Neyer?
I'm working on sending our esteemed baseball editor some questions.
If you've got a question you'd like me to ask, please share it. I'd also like to know what general fields or topics you are interested in...

Ok
I feel like this years version of the Royals is going to be awful, but they will be more interesting than any team since 2003, do you agree?
Is it 2012 yet?
Soria
Assuming that the Jesus Montero + Eduardo Perez offer from the Yankees for Joakim Soria was true, was it smart for the Royals to turn this down? Do you think Soria will be traded this year?
Waiting for April.
Ask that MOFO this
The waiver process. When a player goes on waivers how do the teams find out about it and where/who? And then once a team decides they want to put it in a claim who deals with that?
For example the Neshek waiver claim. How long does the process take from release to being claimed and assigned to highest priority team, etc.
MUCHAS GRACIAS
I loathe David Glass
Do you still think the Royals will never again win a World Series?
And if so, why? Isn’t there enough uncertainty about the future that any and every team has a legitimate chance to win the World Series in the indeterminate future?
You may know me as NYRoyal.
honestly....
i dont think there’s any good question to ask him….the major league team sucks…and honestly, what else is there to say about the minor league system that hasnt been said? All that being said, I guarantee i’ll read every word of it and more than likely enjoy it.

Do you think the Royals will get to the playoffs with Dayton Moore as the general manager?
And if so, do you think it will be a one shot deal, or do you think DM teams will frequently be in contention?
Neyer has expressed some strong negative feelings about Dayton Moore. I wonder how much the great minor league system has affect his opinion of Moore and whether DM can get the Royals over the top.

And a follow up to that,
Just based on what Moore has shown so far, how long would he give Moore to capitalize on what he has built? Two years, five years, eight years? And what is the tipping point (say, hypothetically not making the playoffs despite having a top 5 farm system for five years)?

You could ask him what he thinks of bandwagon fans?
I’m just stirring the pot here. The first blog I read a lot of was Rob and Rany, and it closed shop very soon after I found it.
How do you rank our prospects
and which ones do you think are most likely to bust?

Will there always be a backlash against sabermetrics?
Or is it only a handful of old MSM writers holding onto dear life to avoid learning something they do not understand, that will eventually die out?
What is the future of sports journalism? Will reporting and opinion come from completely different mediums?
Defense seems like the “big thing” in sabermetrics now. What are some areas you can see sabermetrics heading into the future?
Do you still wear flannel?

See if you can find out if where you can find some of his old stories online
I’m specifically referring to this character/alter ego he made up that posted mainly about 1. Baseball 2. Being an elderly drunken ex baseball reporter. It was comic gold… I loosely based my short-lived Clem Shephard series on it
Come to think of it, I might be thinking about Rany instead of Rob.

Oh and you might also ask
If he feels vindicated about writing/predicting the Royals would be an inept team year after year for the last twelve years, despite facing a huge backlash from a lot of Royals fans (and some pundits) who dismissed him as overly pessimistic

Should the Royals send Davies to AAA, and put Mazarro in his place?
That would probably be a smart move, and it would win us more games.
davies isnt really the problem....
he was probably our 2nd best starter last year

Davies is out of options
And would be a fair bet to get claimed off waivers.

Dear Mr Neyer:
How should I decide whether to use a FanPOST or a FanSHOT?

I think this question should be included in all interviews done for Royals Review.
Except not necessarily about Mr. Neyer – you know, change that part for whomever is getting interviewed.

My husband wants to know if he's working on any upcoming book projects.
And although he didn’t say it, I think it was implied that the follow-up question is can he get a promo copy.
If you could make one realistic trade
(i.e. no Mendoza to the Cards for Pujols), what would it be?
