Lucas May traded
Per MLB Trade Rumors, the Royals have traded Lucas May to the Diamondbacks for a 19 y/o Italian pitcher named Andrea Pizziconi. Add him to Vin Mazzaro and Jake Odirizzi and we have a lot of Scrabble points.
At first glance, this looks to be an absolute steal for the Royals. They ship off Lucas May, who was the 5th or 6th catcher at best in the Royals' organizational chart and relatively old at 26 for a 19 y/o pitcher with good traditional and decent peripheral numbers.
The Moore haters have to at least give him credit for putting another solid young arm in the system without giving up much of anything.
Lucas May: .176/.263/,329 in 95 PA at AAA
Andrea Pizziconi: 2.57 ERA 1.22 WHIP 5 K/9 3.4 BB/9 in 49 IP between Rookie League and A-.

I guess the three words that describe this trade for me are "ho hum" and "meh."
It’ll be interesting to see what becomes of this pizzaconey, which to say that we got anything of anything for May is kind of absurd.
So we turned two and a half months of Scott Podsednik into Elisaul Pimentel and a dude with a girl’s name and one of the most ridiculous last names in the game.
Despite that, I’m going to have to give Dayton Moore a “Win” on that one.

So...
Are you saying that you just invented new ball park food? The pizzaconey? It sounds badass. A large pizza stuffed with hotdogs, chili and cheese. Where do I sign?

I was thinking more along the lines of a hotdog
Wrapped with a New York-style slice of Pepperoni.
Maybe a Brat, or a Scimeca’s sausage instead of the hotdog. Delicious.

So the plan is
To have this guy stand near 1b when Billy is at bat? “I’m not gonna hurtcha. I’m gonna Eatcha!”
