What a day in Royals land. It was all setup for a magic moment in the bottom of the 8th, but our hero struck out versus the absolutely filthy Bard.

• Alex Gordon is good. On Jeff Francoeur appreciation day, Alex Gordon homered and doubled. His 4.6 WAR is exactly twice what the Sainted One has done this season.
• Outfield assists!
• Yost pulled Butler for Getz after Butler's single with one out in the 8th. My gut response was "too early" but then again, maybe not. I'd love to hear what you guys think.
