Top 4 remain unchanged
6. Cubs (-1)
7. Marlins (+3)/A’s (-1)
8. Dodgers
9. Padres (-2)
10. Rockies (-1)
The only team that gained ground was the Marlins jumping 3 spots to a tie with the A’s for 7th. A few ties from last week evened out this week.
The Royals are still 9.5 games back of first place, and 3.0 games back of 2nd. The Mariners are the closest to us sitting 2.5 games back.
Royals learned what it takes to compete for a championship this week as they saw the best of the AL East. The young guys know what they have to get to now to bring that banner to Kauffman and have that parade on the plaza. The answer? More runs and better pitching.
The KC OF has been very solid offensively this year. I wonder how Melky’s injury affected his WAR value? Hosmer was at -0.1 WAR value today. Moustakas at -0.3. Alex Gordon at 4.8. Melky Cabrera at 3.3. And Jeff Francoeur at 2.2. Our best pitcher has been Francis at 2.3 WAR. Sigh… look at all those hated signings reppin’ the best on the team. Weird.
Well, keep the rookies going. Things should get easier in Toronto with Morrow, Romero, Cecil, and Henderson Alverez before seeing Cleveland and Ubaldo, Carmona, and Masterson.
Go Royals!
I have read the draft will be way down next year so I want the pick of the litter.
