Misinformation on Royal Baserunning Continues

The day after I posted this, the Star posted this:

The Royals, because they lack the power potential of many teams, identified the need to improve base-running as a way to generate more runs – and it’s worked. They currently rank sixth among AL teams in runs despite ranking 11th in homers.

That compares to last year’s rankings of 10th in runs and 12th in homers.

I'm sure the fact that the Royals improved from 8th to 5th in OBP has nothing to do with this. Or the fact that the Royals have gone from 9th to 7th in slugging. No, just the steals.
