God he's been AWFUL in the field this year!
Seriously though, I don’t understand how a DH has a negative fielding WAR. Shouldn’t it just be 0, since they don’t affect the defense one way or another. I guess when it comes down to it, I don’t get fielding WAR in general.

Butler's -1.6 fielding runs is from the 10 games he has played at 1B this year
For less than one full season, look at UZR (the fielding runs component for WAR), not UZR/150.
