Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

If Butler and Melky hit a few more, we will be in historic territory. It is a weird stat, but as Royals fans, you take your (good) history where you can get it.

I found it sort of interesting.

But ultimately, that’s all it is. It clearly has little to no impact on the team’s success. Another one of those stats that nobody really cares about other than Ryan Lefebvre, who will tell us this stat over and over for the next month.

Have you heard about Chris Getz's RISP average?

Ryan has gotten away, somewhat, from beating pitch count to death.

I've Been Watching

These counting stats accumulate all season long. I knew it was unusual, but I didn’t realize it was historic. I had also noticed the 20 HR possibilities, too. Thanks for that bit of research, Chaim.

I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

You're welcome

I was going to make a fan post about it here, and then Rany’s article just seemed to fit it perfectly.

For anyone who doesn’t read the comments section of Rany’s blog, here’s what Phil is talking about: This year’s Royals team could become the first in franchise history to have 5 players with 20 or more HRs. The last time the Royals had as many as 3 was 2002, the only times the Royals had 4 were 1977 and 1987.

Unfortunately, I think it is unlikely that in the final month of the season, Hosmer will hit 5 HR’s, and Francoeur will hit 4 and Cabrera will hit 3 and Butler will hit 2. Some of those things might happen, but probably not all of them.

You may know me as NYRoyal.

Perhaps unlikely

But certainly not unreasonable. It’s not like we’re talking about any one of them needing 10 more in a month.

Yo, doubter!

Hosmer and Francoeur now need only 4 and 3 more, respectively…
