Mariners-Yankees Trade
Craziness. I think both players involved are pretty overrated, though I like this deal for the Mariners more.

When I was in America
I only went to Taco Bell once. Now I regret all the missed opportunities I had.

Honestly...
Taco Bell’s food is average.
However, it’s food quantity/quality to cost ratio is fantastic. Hence its popularity. College students like me love Taco Bell with all our souls.
I don't credit for "breaking the story"????
This mysterious french man who runs Royals Review is a corrupt glory-hogging asshole

It's Funny Because

It’s crazy
Rotation went from
CC-Nova-Burnett-Hughes-Garcia
to
CC-Pineda-Kuroda-Nova-Hughes/Burnett

I think this deal is about even when you consider Campos
has some big time upside.
If I was the M’s with King Felix in one hand the Angels and Rangers way ahead of you talent wise I’d probably get the Yankees in a bidding war for Felix.
Pineda in that big park is probably a 2/3 for a while even without a third pitch. That’s pretty valuable for 5 years as is Campos if he reaches his ceiling

To me, this comes down to Pineda developing a third pitch
I don’t think Pineda can be a #2 starter with two pitches. Either way, crazy to see two young guys get traded for each other.
I don't understand why Z had to give up Campos.
Should’ve just went Pineda for Montero, plenty of questions on both

I dont either
He is not getting a lot of press, but Campos could really help the Yankees down the road

Defcon 2
The battle for Grass Creek just intensified. Mariners fans will soon think that they have the best young team east of the Mississippi. We can only pray that the Yost/Frenchy/Broxton hunting trips will pay off when it matters most.
President Miller, I recommend we go to Defcon 1.

Mariners fans will soon think that they have the best young team east of the Mississippi?
They’re on the west coast; apparently they’re not that good at geography. The only thing they’re east of is Japan.
They Are East
Of The Mississippi if you go far enough.

That's one fewer SP the Yankees will be looking for next offseason
That’s good for the Royals and the SP market next year.

And one more SP the Mariners will be looking for.
They may not spend like the Yankees, but they spend.
I wouldn't expect the Mariners to go after a big, expensive FA SP next year

Kiroda on a one-year and Pineda cost controlled in 2013.
Yup, it looks like the Yankees are out of the FA market in 2012.
Nick Swisher and Johnny Giavatella deserve treats in the Kaufmann parking lot.

Does this make Phil Hughes available?
Of course, asking price is important, but I would probably call Cashman up and start the bidding.
If you don't expect too much from me, you might not be let down

I guess he's going to the pen
But yea, he might be available

Guessing AJ is available.
Anyone want to spend 33 million over the next 2 years? Yeah, me neither.
Stuck following the Royals since 1976.
The Yankees would have to eat much if not most of Burnett's remaining $$ to move him
But he also has a 10 team no trade list as leverage. Maybe they would rather use him in the bullpen first. Only the Yankees would have a closer and 2 setup guys making a combined 45 million.
Maybe he'll retire and give the money back.

Boras would melt like the Wicked Witch of the West if that happened
All this talk about the new frugal Yankees makes me laugh.
The yanks made out big time in this deal...
Not too many athletes impress me as quickly as Pineda. But I dont know shit about minor league players
I am the one who knocks.
