David Glass believes small-market franchises must do whatever it takes to lock up young talent long term
Glass said he expects Moore to begin discussions with both of them on long-term deals as early as this season, even though they just arrived from the minor leagues last year. Here is the link to the entire AP article

It’s nice to hear that from an owner, but Boras throws a wrench in the “Rays Way”. I would like to see Glass make a Gordon extension the top priority, instead of signing mediocre to poor players to at or above market rate contracts.

but boras has done deals in the recent past…deals that the royals can definitely afford assuming they give them to the right guys

Gordon, Hosmer, Moose, Perez, and Duffy are guys that i would say right now to build the team around and try to sign to long term contracts at this moment.
