Who are you trying to kid?
Aweful way to put a title! So HOZ was heavy at a younger age and what? Who cares? Judging your profile picture, you surely don’t look to skinny yourself! So is HOZ giving you some hopes? To bad, cause if he was…it didn’t help or make any difference in you anyway. Come on..Look at HOZ today! He looks like a movie star….where the ladies, stop and turn their heads each time they see him “Whoops there he is” Something you can’t get enough of. Sorry, dude…sounds like your just jealous..you can’t compete against the HOZ! he would run circles around you and you would not even know what hit you!

Why do I feel like, I owe you an apology?
That title really made me upset! But, I was wrong also for saying what I did. I apologize for my statement. Truly do!

We are still friends
I wasn’t making fun of Hosmer, the guy is awesome. They were teasing him on the show.

Misunderstanding on my part, after reading the title.
I thought you were making fun of him and even if you were, I was still wrong. The video was funny.
No problem

How crazy is this idea?
Looking at what Tim Lincecum is going to be making in his final two years of arbitration has me worried. What happens when Eric Hosmer hits those final two years of arbitration? The Royals cannot afford him. In all likelyhood, they are going to be forced to move him after 2015 while he still has two years of team control. Boras isn’t going to give a discount, even if they’re just buying out his arbitration years.
So my suggestion, get a discount over the next five years by letting him become a free agent in that last year. You keep him a year longer most likely, and at a lower rate than if he were to go through arbitration. That allows you to spend more on the players around him. Instead of getting prospects, you will end up getting compensation picks, which are going to be more valuable since overslot deals are essentially going away. You also remove the uncertainty of trying to estimate what he might make through arbitration, which allows you to better control you long term budget view.
Is it crazy to let him become a free agent a year earlier if it means he’s actually with the Royals a year longer at a cheaper rate?
you realize how historically good lincecum has been?
Fielder’s numbers are probably a very high ceiling for what hosmer could become, and he only made $26 million in his final 2 years

Yeah, I don’t think they can afford $15.5M in that last year and will have to trade him. Which means they’ll have to trade him the year before so he’s not a 1 year rental.

theyve been able to afford multiple $12 million a year guys...
why couldnt they afford a $15 M guy? especially if they’re winning and drawing more with a better tv deal? which is all likely if hosmer is producing on a fielder level

Sure they could afford that, as long as they want to field a shitty rest of the team like in the past.

if we cant afford a $15 million player
and still compete we might as well be contracted right fucking now

I don't think you get draft compensation
For non-tendering players.

Not non-tendered
Hiroki Kuroda is bringing compensation after 4 years because the deal the Dodgers made with him.
why would we want to shorten the length of time that we control hosmer?

Because they won't be able to afford him
The Royals have a repeated history of not being able to keep their best players. Most likely, he will not be here for that season anyway if history repeats itself.
The purpose would be to trade off that final year in order to get significant discounts during the years he will be here. That way you can surround him with better players while he is here.
When you are always pinching pennies, you have to find value and sometimes in unconventional ways. Or you can continue to head to the craps table and try and hop nines hoping it will eventually it.
This history is largely dictated by the fact that they've been playing for nothing.

This proves that Hosmer started a fashion trend.
The one where people where baseball caps with curved bills (like they should be worn), except they always have the front of the cap halfway up on their head just lying there. Have you seen this? Have a friend that used to wear his hates that way. Probably a “I don’t care how I look, but I know this looks cool” type of thing. Wow. Can’t believe Hosmer started it.
Forget the skinny tie unless you’re making a cameo on Mad Men. It’s not coming back because most of the guys who wear skinny ties are celebrities or gay – and that’s not going to make many men want to dress like that.

I teach MS kids basketball
It’s funny how awkward they are at that stage. Their bodies are all changing and they all gain a bunch of baby fat right before a growth spurt. He must of been in that stage.
It took me a second to realize
you were talking about middle school kids and not kids that have multiple sclerosis.
