There are also reports
The Royals have signed RHP Roman Colon to a minor league deal and invited him to spring training.

He's on the 40 man roster
So he’s not part of this list.
I don't know if this is serious.
I doubt that it is, but I sort of like Orlando. He’s very smooth in CF.

From what I’ve read, other than straight line running, his raw tools never got beyond raw. I don’t think anyone likes how he has developed.

Again, I'm no scout
but I like watching him play CF. He gets up the line pretty quickly and has decent power. His AA numbers look good, and I hesitate to place too much emphasis on his AAA line as he was getting inconsistent playing time in the OF with Lorenzo Cain being stuck in Omaha all year.

Don't think any of them will make it.
Maybe Monty.

Is he a Royal?
I never saw any report that we signed him for 2012. I like him as depth, but did we sign him? I will be surprised if I missed it…
I think I remember the Royals giving him a minor league deal

I thought he had slipped off into the sunset a couple of months ago.
Now that I think of it, that was Aaron Laffey. Nevermind.
I'm waiting for my wave of talent to arrive.

I'm actually hoping in vain that Irving Falu gets a shot at UI.
And no, I don’t mean user interface.
Its just Jeff Franceour with a sombrero and a mustache

That's all he's wearing?
Must be batting practice on Cinco de Mayo.

We Don't Get
Our random hobos from our MiLB system; we sign FA’s instead.
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

I would imagine that it is rare for guys just drafted last year with no minor league experience to get a major league camp invite. I really don’t remember, but I doubt Moose and Hosmer got invites to the major league camp the spring after they were drafted.

I'm trying to remember some of our other first round draft picks
didn’t some have as part of their deal inclusion on the 40-man roster? Therefore, they would be invited to spring training?

Some draftees require a MLB contract
I can’t recall the last time we gave a draftee a MLB contract.

Hochevar maybe? I'm not sure. He might have gotten an invite to ST.

Hoch
Aaron Crow, maybe

Yeah, Hochevar and Crow both got Major League deals
And of course they were college players too, which theoretically means they are more advanced and more ready for some time at the Major League camp.

Who was also in his 20s when signed as a LA FA and therefore not as "raw"
although I don’t think he’s ever been invited to camp.

Yeah,
this virtually never happens with HS draftees, though.
