Another time it is often easy to hate him is when he's running the bases

He’s overly aggressive and gets himself erased on the basepaths too often.

But on a personal, non-baseball performance level, I like Francoeur well enough. He seems like a nice guy. Some of the stupid jock nonsense isn’t great, but professional athletes are full of stupid jock nonsense. I’m sure having a beer or three with Francoeur would be a fun experience. The same goes for Dayton Moore (although I think that would be more about interesting baseball discussion, rather than affable fun). Nice guys, I just don’t love their job performance.

Good story, thanks for sharing.

I’ve had some fun conversations with guys in the past. Cliff Floyd was fun in Florida. Yelled some fun things at us and threw us a baseball every inning for 9.

I remember that throwout to first.

One of my favorite baseball fielding memories. Ridiculous. And then that laser throw to third.

I loved the throw to third.

Mostly because I was only a few rows back. My “punch out” reaction is still on the highlight (because my douchey moments are the one’s that are immortalized).

Yeah, that was way cool...

it took some forethought on Francouer’s part, some consideration for some people he didn’t know. Most pro-athletes, and humans in general for that matter, seldom show much thought for any other than themselves and those very close. Nice story, indeed.

If women only slept with nice guys...guys would only be nice. And they don't. And we're not.
