Royals TV Broadcast Deal
I was reading this Plain Dealer Article on TV Rights and got to thinking about the Royals TV deal. I looked around and couldnt find any details on how the contract. Anyone have any idea how much it pays or when it ends? While a new deal wouldnt come close to the Rangers or Angels new deals, a deal struck while the Royals are competitive and becoming more popular locally, could and would inject some much needed revenue into the franchise. However, for all i know, Glass signed away those rights in perpetuity for a boat or something. Anyone have a clue?

The deal with Fox Sports runs through the 2019 season
Not sure about the money for the Royals, but I think the Cardinals get $15M from their Fox Sports deal. Considering the Cardinals were #1 in ratings in 2010, and #2 in 2011, and the Royals #19 in 2010, I’d guess the Royals contract is a bit lower.
hmm....2019....no good...
although it seems like these things generally get renegotiated 2-3 years in advance, so maybe it’ll be perfect timing coming off of our back to back WS wins and crazy high TV ratings

It is believed to be a 12 year deal
That started in 2008 after being agreed to in 2006. I can’t find any money specifics.
I thought I remember hearing a number like $5 mill per year

YES!
The name of that song played at KC Comets games in the '80's was Giorgio Moroder's "The Chase." Now you know.
