Source says #Mets and Ronny Cedeno now do have deal pending physical. About $1.1 million.— Adam Rubin (@AdamRubinESPN) January 6, 2012
Cedeno is an above average fielder at SS and can play 2B and 3B. He's a very poor hitter. He managed 2.8 fWAR over the last two years. Yuni totaled 1.4 fWAR over that period in more playing time. This is yet another example of a better player that Moore could have signed for less money. Can we dispense with the notion that Moore had no alternative but to sign Yuni for $2M (plus incentives)?
