According to Jon Heyman, we just signed Willy Taveras to a minor league deal.

Why is this amazing?

Because for years we joked that Dayton Moore was going to go after Jeff Francoeur as soon as he could. Lo and behold, we're going into our third season with the French one as our starting RF.

But even as those rumors circulated, we were joking about the Royals signing an even worse player.

So much so that EXACTLY TWO YEARS TO THE DAY, I broke out the, at the time, burgeoning meme, Insanity Wolf to describe just how dumb acquiring Frenchy and that other outfielder would be.

I just don't get it. Are we actually controlling Dayton Moore? Are our fears telling him what to do? Is he secretly a vampire that feeds off of despair? I can think of no other reason for a whole community to see bad moves coming years in advance and yet the person in charge plunges blindly ahead with those moves.
