The Star's Rustin Dodd explains, but doesn't name, some mysterious advanced stat
"According to one advanced metric that attempts to quantify overall value by measuring offense, defense and base running,Gordon was the seventh-most valuable player in the American League in 2011."
Is this progress or Pop Tart pandering?

Could be WARP,
could be WAR, it also might be Runs Created.
Is it VORP? Is it FRAR? I wish that Rustin Dodd had stated.
Clearly not the runs he plated,
Dinosaur,
Tandy Corp.
Also he tied for twentieth.
It appears to be Fangraphs WAR
I just found it odd

Very Nice Work
Maybe the shame of citing a nerd stat was too much for him.
I used to be an A's fan until they left town and got good.

Rustin and Sam are more advanced, Lee even reads the stuff if you believe
some on Twitter but he likes to take stabs at the sabermetric community. Lee probably gets bullied by Jason Kendall and is forced to do this otherwise he’ll get an atomic snuggy
