whenever there's a change made to baseball in any way
it gets painful for the more devoted fans, or, at least, me. we hear about it as it happens, discuss it, decide what would be the best course of action for our favorite teams and at some point there’s little to nothing more to do with the information.
then the fans who zone out of baseball as soon as the world series is over and pick back up at spring training have to have the information explained to them. then the fans who don’t pay attention until opening day. then the fans who don’t pay attention unless they are given some reason to tune in.
but that's not to say that's true for all of the cba
there are always intricacies few know about. i doubt more than two people on here know the cutoff date for being considered 18 or younger vs 19 or older in the draft is. i don’t think anyone at baseball america knew exactly when it was a couple drafts ago.

My guess is July 1.

That was a very good read
But no capital letters? Really? Is that a political, social or artistic statement? Who does this guy think he is, e.e. cummings?
You may know me as NYRoyal.
BFIB don't need capitalization
They spend too much time being awesome fans to work on the basics of grammar.
I ask the same thing about Cormac McCarthy, and his 'stylistic choice' to eschew nearly all punctuation.
It infuriates me.

I feel like they may have been justified.

...and now that I tried reading the article,
I had to stop.

i see the new rules for Draft bonuses, but what are the rules for actual contracts
can a team offer the slot bonus for that spot in the draft + make the base salary for the first years of the contract higher that average? if so, would this not count against the “bonus” pool given to each team?
He didn't mention that International money can be traded. I think that is a pretty big deal
a team without ability to sign Intl FAs can trade that money. Royals could give up low level prospects/org filler or just buy money from other teams on the international market.

He refers to the Cardinals as 'us.'
Blech.
