So the Tigers released a reliever because of a spring training game who has about the same WAR value as Blake Wood, (he walks less, strikes out more people, but overall is about the same, a tick below an average major league reliever.) He did not have options, but he was not arbitration eligible. So if Blake Wood had a bad spring training game, and was out of options, should/would the Royals be able to get nothing for him, and would/should they just release him? Was this a bad move by the Tigers?
