The Kansas City Royals (71-91 in 2011) have only fielded a winning team once in the past eighteen years and haven’t made the playoffs since 1985. Normally, fans would deduce that they would get a ton of quality first-round picks who would help the team turn it around and be competitive. However, they have had draft pick after draft pick fail and the ones who do succeed get out of town pretty quickly. It’s a sad story for a proud franchise that was so good during the late 70′s and early 80′s. If 2011 taught the KC Royals anything, it’s that they should be pretty excited for seasons to come, as their farmhands are beginning to pan out. You’ve seen this song and dance before, but hear me out.
