To me a Manager has one job; to manage the bullpen and substitutions effectively. That is the only area that they can directly affect the game. The position is really glorified in the eyes of fans and the media. They simply have to play the percentages and make the smart baseball move. And if you cant do that that why are you still a manager?
Ned Yost has proven time and time again that he is less than average(to say the least) For instance he takes out Aaron Crow and Tim Collins who gave up a combined one hit in two innings of work, and brings in the struggling Greg Holland. Who goes on to not record an out while letting 5 straight batters get on base. It's like hes trying to find the pitcher having an off night and sticks with him way too long. It doesnt make any sense. I mean when you throw 6 pitchers in a game the odds are pretty good that one of them is going to have an off night.
Along with countless blunders in the tigers and athletics series, Ned Yost has shown he isnt a good late inning manager. And for this I think we need a change at Manager. That might seem a bit radical but What are we losing if we fire Yost?
I think the answer is kinda simple....We wouldnt be losing anything.
What do you guys think?
