Previously, on KANSAS CITY ROYALS BASEBALL
CUT TO:
DAVID GLASS: You're on thin ice Dayton. Get me a winner or I'll find someone who can. I don't trust you.
DAYTON MOORE: Don't trust me. [tersely] Trust the process.
CUT TO:
Eric Hosmer makes a grand appearance at "The Royals Review", a popular hangout for the Royals. The audience hoots and hollers.
CUT TO:
Kila Kaaihue, a single tear on his cheek, heads for the door.
CUT TO:
NED YOST [screaming, to Dayton]: I ask for more pitching and all you get me is Chen and Sanchez? You need to get me more pitching dammit! Work around the clock if you have to!
DAYTON MOORE [turns screaming, to Ned]: I ALREADY WORK AROUND THE CLOCK!
CUT TO:
DAYTON MOORE (sobbing while clutching Alex Gordon): You can't leave me. We have so much more work to do.
ALEX GORDON: Shhh. (looks into Dayton's eyes) Stop. You had me at hello. I'm staying.
CUT TO:
NED YOST (angrily): You're a loose cannon Aviles! I'm shipping you up to Boston!
MIKE AVILES: You don't have the guts. Besides, who do you have to replace me?
Ned Yost looks over to the corner, where Yuniesky Betancourt seems to emerge from the shadows. He gives a knowing smile.
MIKE AVILES [turns and sees Yuni]: No! I thought you died! I saw your career go over the cliff in Milwaukee! How could you return?
NED YOST: Mike, meet Runiesky Betancourt. Yuni's twin-brother.
MIKE AVILES: NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
CUT TO:
Jeff Francoeur and Mike Moustakas hanging out at "Royals Review"
JEFF FRANCOUER: You gotta feel real good about our chances this year. We get lucky, we could even take this division.
In walks PRINCE FIELDER, the big bad bully of the Detroit Tigers. He walks over to Moustakas and pushes him against the wall.
PRINCE FIELDER: I only came here to do two things - kick ass and eat hamburgers. And eating the hamburgers will take me a while, but after that, I will kick your ass.
A wide-eyed Mike Moustakas gulps in fear as Fielder leaves.
CUT TO:
Salvador Perez, hugging his wife.
SALVADOR PEREZ: We've finally made it baby. We're going to be rich, and I'm going to get a chance to show everyone what I can do.
CUT TO:
Salvador Perez, walking alone at night, when suddenly a car emerges from the darkness and strikes Perez, flipping him over the car.
The car stops and we see Jason Kendall smiling and rubbing his hands in glee.
CUT TO:
Ned Yost, sitting anxiously in a hospital waiting room. Jason Kendall, dressed as a doctor approaches him.
NED YOST: Tell me Jason, is he going to be okay?
JASON KENDALL: Salvador is going to miss 2-4 months.
Ned Yost looks crestfallen.
DOCTOR: There's more. Joakim Soria is out for the year. He may never pitch again.
NED YOST (sobbing hysterically): Hold me Kendy, and tell me everything is going to be okay.
CUT TO:
Johnny Giavotella, talking at a pay phone to his girl back home.
JOHNNY GIAVOTELLA: I finally made it sweetheart. I'm in the big leagues. I'm gonna get a chance to make everyone back home real proud.
Lee Judge and Chris Getz emerge from the shadows - Lee presses the dial-tone button while laughing maniacally.
LEE JUDGE: Hahaha, I don't think so Johnny. You don't have the grit to make it in the big leagues. Tell em Chris.
CHRIS GETZ: We're going to bury you kid. And there won't be any obvious evidence we did it. BWA-HAHAHAHA!
