This is an interesting piece by Sam Mellinger. His basic argument is: 1. Forbes estimates local TV revenue for MLB teams will rise 50% over the next three years. 2. The Royals have one of the worst local TV deals in the league, and we're locked into it for the next EIGHT years. 1 + 2 = The gap between our salary structure and the rest of the league's is about to get even worse/larger. This is really depressing, though thankfully, I'm easily distracted and... hey, it's Opening Night! Go Royals!
