what should a REAL Royals fan know about the team?

My girlfriend is Colombian and she's decided that her favorite team is the Royals (because of me lol). Also, her last name (Reales) is the name of the Royals in Spanish. She teaches Spanish at a university (in georgia) and she told her students yesterday that her favorite team is the Royals. They laughed at her! "Why would you like the royals?" they asked.

Since she is calling herself a Royals fan in public, I decided to ask her a few questions about Royals history.

Question #1: How long have the Royals been a team? Answer: 100 years

After telling her the correct answer I asked,

Question #2: How many world championships have the Royals won? Answer: 2

Question #3: How many Royals players are in the MLB hall of fame? Answer: 20

After telling her the correct answer I asked,

Question #4: Who is that player? Answer: at first, she said she didn't know any of the players, then she said Justin Jones (I think she made up this name).

Now, part of her ignorance is my fault. We've been to one Royals game together- they played the braves in ATL. I spent the whole game trying to teach her about OBP and SLG (rather than teach her team history).

I should add that the game really isn't foreign to her since she grew up in the same town as Edgar Renteria (he's a real celebrity there) and her dad always watched baseball. In fact, her dad would turn down the sound and pretend like he was the announcer- my girlfriend was the only member of his audience. Obviously, her dad is a bit weird, but that's also probably why she likes me.

My questions is this: if she calls herself a Royals fan, what are the things she REALLY needs to know about the team's history?
